Implementation checklist

This is a phased checklist. It takes CommissionCentral from a clean install to production go-live. It extends the Setup sequence (01 Installation … 06 Demo data) into a project plan that an implementer can track end to end. The tasks reflect the shipped V1 behavior on the release/1.0.0 line (app version 1.0.0.0).

How to use this checklist

  • Work the phases in order. Each phase builds on the phase before it. You cannot preview a calculation before a plan exists. You cannot run a payment cycle before the ledger holds entries.
  • Set each row’s Status to one of Not Started · In Progress · Blocked · Done.
  • Fill in an Owner and a Target Date for each line when you plan the engagement.
  • Use Notes to record evidence: the page you configured, a posted document number, a commission ledger entry number, a report output, or a sign-off name and date. The checklist is then also the audit trail of the implementation.
  • Each row starts as Not Started. Copy the table into your project tracker, or edit it in place, and keep it current.
  • Sandbox tip. Open the Commission Setup card in a sandbox company with no configuration. The app then offers to load demo data: commissions enabled, a TRIAL license, demo G/L accounts, the COMM-PAYJ journal, and sample plans, agents, a network, and a manager team. Use it to examine and rehearse. It is an evaluation aid, never a production setup step.

Minimum exit criteria by phase

Do not continue past a phase before it meets its minimum bar:

  • Phase 2 — Installation: app installed and the Commission Setup card is reachable.
  • Phase 3 — Licensing & activation: license key validated with Check License Key (or the 14-day trial confirmed for a pilot).
  • Phase 4 — Security & permissions: the four permission sets assigned to the right users.
  • Phase 5 — Core setup: Commission Setup fully configured and Commissions Enabled turned ON.
  • Phase 6 — Plans & rate matrix: at least one plan activated with rates entered.
  • Phase 7 — Agents & splits: agent assignments total 100% per customer (or the document-salesperson fallback confirmed).
  • Phase 8 — Engine & triggers: every in-scope trigger validated end to end and Preview Commission matching posted results.
  • Phase 9 — Journal, ledger & audit: a reversal exercised and the Commission Audit report producing traceable output.
  • Phase 10 — Payment processing: one full Suggest → Release → Post payment cycle completed, with correct A/P vs payroll output.
  • Phase 12 — Validation & UAT: UAT sign-off documented in the UAT checklist.
  • Phase 13 — Training & go-live: first production run completed and the support model active.
