UC-08 · Manager commission
A manager can earn commission on top of the team members’ earnings. When a member earns, the app creates a separate manager-type entry.
Expected result: a manager at 2% over a rep who earns $500 gets a separate manager entry of $10.
Setup
-
On the Commission Setup card, turn Manager Hierarchy Enabled on.
-
Open Manager Teams and add a row:
Manager Code Member Code Manager Commission % MGR001 SP001 2 -
Assign SP001 to a customer, so they earn commission (as in UC-01).
Post the invoice
Post a sale on which SP001 earns $500.
Result
The app creates two entries:
| Agent | Entry Type | Basis | Commission |
|---|---|---|---|
| SP001 | (standard) | sale | 500.00 |
| MGR001 | Manager | SP001’s $500 | 10.00 (2% × 500) |
The manager entry is a separate ledger entry with Agent Type = Manager. It does not reduce the member’s commission.
Notes
- No recursive chains. Only the member’s direct managers earn. A manager’s commission does not feed up another level. A manager cannot manage themselves.
- A manager entry follows the member’s trigger. An On-Payment member’s manager entry promotes to Payable in step with the member’s entry.
